Handblown Bottle - Lipping Tool
Handblown bottom (nipple)
BWD-1
The Making of the Bottle
Lipping Bottle Tools were mainly used in the early 18th century to shape the neck and opening (the bore) of a glass bottle. Our Lipping Bottle Tool, made in Seattle, was designed for our handblown bottles. Why handblown? We experimented with the bore size to perfectly fit our oak wooden balls, and create a smooth pour when filling a glass. Upon perfecting our bottle design, we produced our introductory bottle BWD-1. As for our collectible handblown bottles, each one is numbered and bears the initials of the designer and glass blower.
